What does the dentist do?

the dentist is the doctor of oral health. The general public these days experiences an incredible oral health and most are keeping their natural teeth throughout their lives. However this is not the case for all people. Cavities are still the most common sickness of early life. Too many humans mistakenly agree with that they only need to see the dentist if they are in pain or feel something incorrect, but they're missing the bigger picture. A regular checkup helps to diagnose and treat situations before they become more complicated and painful.

Here's a list of responsibilities of the dentist:

  • Diagnosing and prevention of oral diseases
  • Maintaining or restoring the oral fitness oftheir patients
  • Interpreting x-rays and diagnostic exams
  • Ensuring the safe administration of anesthetics
  • Tracking growth and improvement of the tooth and jaws
  • Conducting surgical processes on the tooth, bone and soft tissues of the oral area
  • Working as a team for the benefit of the patients; this includes specialists, dental assistants, lab technicians and dental hygienists
